Go Global! Study Local!
Diversity your education!

There are over 50 courses offered in summer school to enhance your multi-cultural education.
• Take courses to satisfy the core requirement for Global and Cultural Awareness.
• Prepare for Study Abroad.
• Courses are available to meet the requirements for several of the interdisciplinary diversity programs for: Women’s Studies, Religious Studies, International Education, and more!

International Education

Do you want to make your education more international, but find you don’t have the time or the money to leave the country? If so, consider looking into one of our five international interdisciplinary studies programs. You can choose from Asian Studies, International Development Studies, Latin American and Caribbean Studies, Peace and Reconciliation Studies, or Russian, Eastern and Central European Studies. Many students find that interdisciplinary studies programs fit easily into their educational plan, and they are able to complete a program without delaying graduation. The summer is the perfect time to start taking classes towards an international interdisciplinary studies program.

  • If you want to enroll in the Asian Studies program, you can take HIST 115 Islamic World to 1800, HIST 433 Muhammad and Origins of Islam, LCHI 105 or LCHI 107 First-Year Chinese, or PHIL 106 Wisdom of East-Oriental Philosophy.
  • If you are more interested in International Development you might take EDUC 551 Multicultural and Special Populations, NRRT 320 International Issues- Recreation and Tourism, or POLS 232 International Relations.
  • If you would like to add some Latin flare to your education, consider enrolling in Latin American and Caribbean Studies, with classes that include any of the Spanish language courses or Politics of South America offered this summer.
  • If you are going to be in Fort Collins for the summer why not go global and take some course towards an international interdisciplinary studies program!

Women’s Studies Interdisciplinary Programs

Women’s Studies is an interdisciplinary field of research and teaching that places gender and women at the center of inquiry. Central to the consideration of gender are the ways class, race, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, age and ability shape the human experience. Women’s Studies uniquely fulfill Colorado State University’s central mission, and contributes to interpersonal, intercultural, and international understanding.

The following summer offerings satisfy core requirements for a Women’s Studies Certificate:
