Summer 2009: Special Courses, Programs and Events

NEW! TH 381 A1 Experimental Performance

First 4-week session: May 18 - June 12; MTWRF, 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. in the UCA Theatre Studio

This performance based studio class (in CSU’s impressive new Center for the Arts) will be of special interest to all students seeking to broaden their understanding and skills as creative and expressive artists. There is no special requirement but students with any experience in performance or expressive arts are particularly welcome. Such experience might be in Dance, Music, Theatre, Visual Art, Poetry, Writing or in a related Liberal Arts area such as: Foreign Languages, Speech Communication, Philosophy, Psychology. Students will be introduced to alternative ways of viewing their imaginative capabilities as ‘thinking artists’ and guided in growth as responsive audience members to ideas and approaches that challenge and push the boundaries of convention: especially of art forms that might normally be outside their own academic discipline. The course is taught by Eric Prince (Professor of Theatre CSU School of the Arts) For further information he can be contacted at eric.prince@colostate.edu
